Be it enacted by the Youth Model Legislature of the State of New Jersey that a website be developed and maintained to allow government departments to share supplies.

Section I:

Only government departments, from state to town levels, can participate.
|

Section II:
|
When one department has supplies that are no longer needed but in usable condition, the items would then be posted on the website where other departments could view the items.
|

Section III:
|
The time limit on how long the item(s) are kept on the site is determined by the provider of the items.
|

Section IV:
|
When another department is interested in the item(s) posted, they would contact the provider of the item(s) themselves.
|
|
Section V:
|
Transportation of the items would be provided by the seeker of the item(s).
|

Section VI:
|
Every transaction would be reported and recorded if there is ever a need to refer back to them

| Statement of Intent: The purpose of this Bill is to reduce waste, save resources, and lessen the burden on landfills starting within the government.
Effective Date: This Bill shall take effect nine months after being enacted.
Financial Statement: The only cost of this plan is the initial setup and maintenance of the website along with editing the law books. The cost will be balanced out in the future by departments saving money on supplies.
