An act relating to the donation of excess, edible bread-related products by bread distributors.
Be it enacted by the Youth Model Legislature of the State of New Jersey that all bread distributors in the state of New Jersey shall contribute their daily excess bread-related products to local charities so that food is not wasted but, instead, offered to the underprivileged.

Section I:
|
Bread-related products shall be defined as any food comprised of dough.
|

Section II:
|
Local food charities shall procure excess bread-related products from bread distributors and be responsible for the transportation of these foods.
|

Section III:
|
A bread distributor shall be defined as a business establishment that produces these bread related products for public consumption. This act will only apply to any distributor that annually grosses more that $250,000.

Section IV:
|
Bread distributors shall submit a yearly report to the state that outlines their weekly bread contributions. The report shall include the buisnesses’annual gross incomes and records of the buisnesses’ food contribution.

Section V:
|
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) shall impose random inspections on the bread distributors to ensure that foodstuffs being donated are, in fact, sanitary and edible. If distributors fail to meet FDA requirements or the contents of this act, they will be subject to a fine determined by the FDA.

| Statement of Intent: The purpose of this Bill is to utilize the surplus food products of bread distributors in order to help food charities aid people in need.
Effective Date: This Bill shall take effect on January 11, 2011.
Financial Statement: The financial statement shall be determined by the treasury.
